North Korea Threatens to Test a Hydrogen Bomb Over the Pacific Ocean

More Chinese geologists have warned North Korea that the consequences could be catastrophic if it conducts another test at the mountainous Punggye-ri nuclear facility,  the  South China Morning Post  reports .  North Korea conducted its sixth nuclear test at the facility, situated roughly 50 miles from China's border, in early September. After the test, a senior Chinese nuclear scientist warned that another test could blow off the top of the mountain and lead to a massive collapse, which could allow radioactive waste to be blown across the border into China. This warning came as a North Korean delegation met with the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Geology in Beijing on September 20.  Pyongyang's September nuclear test was its most powerful yet. Drive-by attack in Italy Macerata: Foreigners targeted, say police

Not less than four people have been injured in a series of drive-by shootings in a central Italian town, with one man arrested. According to BBC news, a ll of those injured in Macerata are foreigners, they added. The office of the town's mayor warned people in a tweet to stay indoors because of the incident. The shootings were reported in different parts of Macerata, including near the town's train station. It is unclear how many people were inside the vehicle, which was a black Alfa Romeo. Police said the injured - which some reports put as high as six - were being treated in hospital. They said that all those targeted were foreigners and local reports said the victims were black immigrants. Gunfire was heard in the Via Spalato and Via dei Velini parts of town, two key areas in an investigation into the murder of an 18-year-old girl whose body was found last Wednesday.

APC says it has been vindicated by Babachir’s sack

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that the party has been vindicated following the sack of the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Mr Babachir Lawal. The Party's National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi stated this yesterday in Abuja maintaining that sacking the embattled SGF means doing the needful.  It shows the President's commitment toward combating corruption at any level no matter who is involved, he stated. Also reacting, the Chairman Presidential Advisory Committee on Anti-Corruption Prof. Itse Sagay, said the former SGF’s sack was overdue. On the appointment of Boss Mustapha as the substantive SGF, Sagay said he had a very long history of political activities saying that his appointment was a positive development.
