Buhari arrives Enugu for a 2-Day South East Tour

President Muhamadu Buhari has today landed the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu as part of his 2 day working visit to the South Eastern Part of Nigeria.
The President was received at the airport by the governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi.
He is expected to proceed to Ebonyi.

Russia has signed a deal to build two nuclear power plants in Nigeria, as Africa's largest economy seeks to end its energy crisis. Russian state-owned company Rosatom will build one in the south, the other in the centre, sources at the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission told the BBC. The deal's exact worth is unknown, although some reports suggest it is likely in the region of $20bn (£15bn). It is one of a number that Rosatom has been eyeing on the continent. The company is also involved in discussions in Ghana and South Africa. An initial agreement with the latter to build a plant was  ruled unlawful in a South African court  earlier this year. The deal in Nigeria was reached after a long period of negotiation, with the two countries signing their first intergovernmental nuclear co-operation agreement in 2009. NLC Drags Nigeria to the International Labour Organisation

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has dragged Nigeria to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) for non-payment of salaries and proscription of trade unions in Kogi State. There are also indications that the NLC may embark on rallies and protest soon to put pressure on the Federal Government to kick-start negotiation on the new minimum wage. President of the NLC, Ayuba Wabba, said the NLC dragged Nigeria to ILO because of the proscription of labour unions by the Kogi State government as well as non-payment of salaries, which constitute breach of ILO core conventions. He stated that Kogi State could not be taken to the ILO because treaties and conventions are signed by nations and Kogi State is only an arm of the Federal Government. Buhari Promises to Address South-East’s infrastructural deficit President Muhammadu Buhari on has pledged to urgently address the infrastructural challenges confronting the South-East zone of the country. Buhari who made the pledge today in Abakaliki during a reception held in his honour at the Government House noted that the Igbos remained an integral part of the country.
