Buhari arrives Enugu for a 2-Day South East Tour

President Muhamadu Buhari has today landed the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu as part of his 2 day working visit to the South Eastern Part of Nigeria.
The President was received at the airport by the governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi.
He is expected to proceed to Ebonyi.

Iranians Report at Least 61 Dead, 300 Injured From Quake TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — A powerful magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit the region along the border between Iran and Iraq on Sunday, killing at least 61 people and injuring 300 in Iran, an Iranian official said. Iranian state TV said Iraqi officials had reported six deaths and 200 injuries inside Iraq, though there was no official comment from Iraq's government. Nine killed, five injured in Benue, Adamawa attack

Suspected gunmen have killed five persons and injured five others at Utonkon community in Ado Local Council of Benue State. The Guardian learnt that apart from the five deaths, many others have also been declared missing as a result of the attack which took place when the council chairman was distributing Christmas gift items to politicians and other stakeholders in the area on Christmas Eve. The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Moses Yamu, who confirmed the attack, said three persons died and five others were seriously injured. Yamu said the attack was carried out by yet-to-be-identified two gunmen who stormed the village on motorbikes, adding that an investigation into the matter had commenced and more policemen had been drafted to the area. The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved N5.567 billion for the 3rd Quarter Soil Erosion Control Accelerated Intervention in six states. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, disclosed this when he briefed State House correspondents on Wednesday in Abuja. Adesina conducted briefing alongside Minister of Agriculture, Mr Audu Ogbeh as well as the Minister of State for Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika. Zimbabwe’s sacked vice president Emmerson Mnangagwa said Wednesday he had fled the country as he issued a direct challenge to long-ruling President Robert Mugabe and his wife Grace.
