Buhari arrives Enugu for a 2-Day South East Tour

President Muhamadu Buhari has today landed the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu as part of his 2 day working visit to the South Eastern Part of Nigeria.
The President was received at the airport by the governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Rochas Okorocha of Imo, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Dave Umahi of Ebonyi.
He is expected to proceed to Ebonyi.

Nigeria's former President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Abuja Federal High Court to ignore the subpoena ordering him to appear in court as a witness to testify in defence of ex-PDP National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh. In the alternative, Jonathan sought an order directing Metuh to deposit with the court for and on his behalf the sum of N1bn to cover travelling expenses for himself and his security personnel from his home town, Otuoke, in Bayelsa State. Conjoined Twin 'Opens Eyes' Four Days After Surgery

One of twin Indian boys who were conjoined at the head has opened his eyes four days after historic surgery to separate them, a doctor says. Two-year-old Jaga has also responded to simple commands, including moving his limbs. He is on a ventilator and needs daily dialysis due to kidney problems. His brother, Kalia, is not yet conscious and has suffered seizures. The boys were born with shared blood vessels and brain tissues and it took 16 hours of surgery to separate them. A team of 30 doctors carried out the operation  - the first of its kind in India - at a state-run hospital in the capital, Delhi. Both boys are stable and doctors are satisfied with their progress so far, Professor Deepak Gupta, who was involved in the operation, told the BBC. The twins, who are from a village in eastern Orissa state, were joined at the head - a condition known as craniopagus. Nigerian Army to begin Operation Python Dance III, says Buratai

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai, has disclosed that the Nigerian Army would soon deploye its personnel to various parts of the country to curtail ongoing threat to security in the country. He said the troops would be deployed under Special Forces, such as Operation Python Dance III in the Southeast, Operation Crocodile Smile III in the Niger Delta and Southwest and Harbin Kunama III in the North to contend cattle rustling in that part of the country. Buratai spoke in Abuja, yesterday, after leading officers and men on an annual 15-kilometre route match that culminated at the Mogadishu Cantonment in the city, tasked officers and men to be on alert. He reiterated that some officers and men could be deployed at short notice to assist what he called “civil authorities” to contend insecurity in any part of the country and charged them to be prepared for the task.
