Mugabe Calls for The Reintroduction of Death Penalty.

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has called for the death penalty to be reintroduced.
His comments come after a justice ministry official revealed last month that more than 50 people applied for the post of hangman.
The last execution in Zimbabwe was in 2005 when its hangman retired, the AFP news agency reports.
Speaking at the burial of a political ally in the capital, Harare, the 93-year-old leader said:
Let's restore the death penalty.
People are playing with death by killing each other.
Is this why we liberated this country? We want this country to be a peaceful and happy nation, not a country with people who kill each other."

 An out of court settlement application for a case involving the federal government and nine victims of the Nigerian civil war has been granted by t he ECOWAS court on Monday. Jonathan Asks For N1bn as Travel Expenses to be Metuh's Witness

Nigeria's former President Goodluck Jonathan has asked the Abuja Federal High Court to ignore the subpoena ordering him to appear in court as a witness to testify in defence of ex-PDP National Publicity Secretary Olisa Metuh. In the alternative, Jonathan sought an order directing Metuh to deposit with the court for and on his behalf the sum of N1bn to cover travelling expenses for himself and his security personnel from his home town, Otuoke, in Bayelsa State. Egypt executes 15 over Sinai attack.

Egypt has hanged 15 militants who were convicted of carrying out attacks on security forces in the Sinai Peninsula in 2013, authorities say. According to reporters, the executions were carried out yesterday  at two prisons in the north of the country, where the men were held. They were convicted of killing soldiers, carrying out assassinations, and destroying military vehicles. It was the first mass execution in the country since six jihadists were hanged in 2015. Sinai has in recent years been beset by an insurgency, with jihadist groups including so-called Islamic State (IS) attacking targets including army, police and judges. Last week, IS blew up a grounded helicopter with an anti-tank missile at a North Sinai airport, killing an army officer and wounding two others.
